About Kippi Leonard
My work explores structure, connection, and the quiet tension between abstraction and
form. Influenced by architecture and spatial relationships, these references become a
starting point, translated into compositions that carry memory, balance, and a sense of
restraint.
I work across oil, cold wax, and mixed media on raw linen, canvas, and birch panels.
The process is layered and intuitive, built through a continual rhythm of adding,
removing, obscuring, and revealing. I stay with the work long enough for something real
to surface, allowing it to shift through excavation and revision until it finds its own clarity.
Each piece is resolved through attention rather than force.
My background in interior design shapes how I see proportion, material, and space. I
am interested in how elements relate, how they hold or disrupt one another, and how a
composition can feel both grounded and unsettled at the same time. My work has been
exhibited nationally and is held in private collections internationally, with collectors
across the United States, Europe, Asia, India, and beyond.
