"Affordability" 16x16

I am a realist painter largely inspired by neighborhood storefronts, roadside architecture, vintage signage, and the overlooked details of everyday life. Much of my work focuses on places that quietly shape our communities, especially small independent businesses, convenience stores, diners, laundromats, and aging commercial spaces that carry a strong sense of memory and human presence.
Working in acrylic, I build surfaces slowly through layered applications of paint, allowing texture, faded color, and signs of wear to emerge over time. Influenced by my background in graphic design and my interest in typography and vintage signage, I’m drawn to strong composition, lettering, and the quiet beauty of things as they age. Although rooted in photographic reference, the paintings shift in the studio as I respond to atmosphere, memory, and feeling, creating work that balances observation with
nostalgia and storytelling.
